  • When the contract is signed, to continue holding the date, we require a $600 booking fee to be paid. Then you will be put into a monthly payment plan. The final installment will be required 30 days prior to the event. You are welcome to pay in-full or make payments ahead of schedule prior to the specified due date. Please include the last names of the couple and the wedding date in the memo line if you are mailing a check. Full payment is due by the specified due date.

  • Up To 150 Guests

    While our venue comfortably accommodates 150 guests with barn, covered deck, and porch combination, it's important to note that during colder weather, the capacity inside the barn is adjusted to accommodate 120 guests. This thoughtful consideration ensures that your event maintains its warmth and intimacy, regardless of the weather.

  • Ensuring Your Comfort: Climate Considerations at Our Venue

    While our main venue area doesn't have centralized climate control, we've made thoughtful arrangements to ensure comfort. The bridal suite and Farm Cottage feature both heating and cooling options, and the restroom is equipped with heating. Additionally, our barn boasts a charming fireplace, couple of patio heaters, and we've strategically placed ceiling fans throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces. Rest assured, we've taken measures to create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere for your event, despite the absence of venue-wide climate control.

  • Most of our CRF couples prefer the outdoors for their ceremony because there are so many more angles for great ceremony photos, but once in a while mother nature doesn’t want to cooperate, so In the case of rain, we have the indoor option with the front doors open so you can have the greenery behind you, or you can have them closed. Guests sit at their tables and the CRF team moves the few (usually 3 - 4) tables down the middle of the room to create a beautiful aisle. Our couples have loved this option because it doesn’t require the complete room flip, which would be disruptive to your event.

  • You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract, not earlier. Please plan accordingly!

  • At Crooked River Farm we only host one wedding each day to ensure that each couple's event is special and receives our full attention.

  • We have a limited number of round tables {7} onsite. They can be mixed in with reception seating, and on the deck, but the majority of your guests will be seated at rectangle tables.

  • Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both onsite.

  • We are dog friendly, with some specific stipulations. Dogs are allowed (only with pre-approval by Susan) at the ceremony and pictures. Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed under roof or near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom.

  • Bar: If you want to offer a bar to your guests, yes, you will be required you to hire one of the licensed and insured bartenders from our list that we provide you with, to open and serve it.

    Caterers: You may cater your own food,{Pot luck etc.}, however if you hire a caterer, they must provide to us, proof that they’re business is insured & licensed by the FDA.

Booking FAQs

  • -1st Payment is your Non-refundable "Save The Date Deposit">$600 This is to secure your date, and counts as your 1st payment towards your rental fee.

    {If there is 30 days or less before your event, you will be required to pay in full.}

    -Your date will be secure once both components have been received by Crooked River Farm Weddings LLC. <Save the date deposit, & signed contract>

    -Once you have reserved your date: ~You may choose to pay in-full or you can go with a payment plan(split into 3-10 more payments), final payment due 30 days before your event. ~Facility Deposit- $500 (Refundable) Due 60 Days Prior to Your Wedding Day.

    -Please Note Missouri charges a 6.725% sales tax in addition to the venue rental. Pricing subject to change at any time.

Catering FAQs

  • -We do not provide catering.

    -If you need help, we can provide you with a list of vendors who have worked well with us in the past.

Planning FAQs

  • Music on Friday's/Saturday's must conclude by 10:30 p.m. to ensure that you, all of your items, and all of your vendors are off-property by midnight. Music on Sunday's must conclude by 9:30 p.m. to be off property by 10:00 pm.

  • We live on the venue as well as being a working farm with locked gates to keep the animals in! For that reason, all deliveries must happen during the standard rental period. Please advise your vendors of this policy.

  • All candles must be flameless, with the exception of a unity candle used during the wedding ceremony. Unity candles must have a protective holder underneath and must be extinguished at the end of the ceremony.

  • A couple of weeks before your event

  • The Marriage License:

    In the state of Missouri, there is no mandatory waiting period to receive your marriage license. Both the bride and groom must go to a Missouri recorder's office and present identification and other information to obtain their license. There is also a fee (usually $50) for the license. Once you have obtained your Missouri marriage license, you can be married in any county in Missouri in the next 30 days. After 30 days, the license expires and you have to repeat the entire process again to get another one. Beware; at least one county in Missouri has their marriage licenses expire in only 15 days.

    For more information on exactly what is required to obtain your marriage license, please contact the recorder's office in the Missouri County of your choice. Most recorder's offices have a website that states all of the necessary information about their marriage licenses. Crooked River Farm LLC is in Ray County

  • Setting up the venue-Crooked River Farm Staff will set up:

    -Tables and chairs for your reception.

    -Benches & chairs for your ceremony.

    You will be responsible for all tablecloths and decorating for your event.

    Clean up of the venue- Crooked River Farm Staff will Put away:

    -Tables and chairs for your reception.

    -Benches & chairs for your ceremony.

    (You will be responsible for picking up and packing up all tablecloths and decorations for your event. CRF staff will sweep up afterwards. ( All trash must be put into trash cans as provided, by the end of the event. A $150 fee will be assessed and deducted from the security deposit for the clean-up of any trash left on site. CRF will provide trash bags and will dispose of bagged trash. Most caterers and bartenders take the responsibility of removing their own trash. Clients should check with their particular vendors to see what their policies are. Venue must be left in the same condition as it was before your event.

  • As Jerry logged some of the trees off our farm and cut the boards one by one, we request that holes are not placed in the walls. We will have areas where hooks are already placed that you are welcome to use for any additional decorations. Some of the beams at Crooked River Farm are very high and not reachable by a ladder. For this reason, we do not allow for anything to be hung from the beams. We hope that you will find them beautiful without any extra work!
