Jerry & Susan

Since 2010, we had opened our little farm , bordered by the crooked river, to families in the hopes that we could give all who visit, a real and fun, farm & pumpkin patch experience they will remember.

Both of us coming from agricultural backgrounds, I raising dairy goats & Jerry raising hogs, cattle & crops , Agritourism seemed the natural thing to do. We chose to grow pumpkins as an experiment.....that went very well.

Over the years, several of our customers suggested we do weddings because of the natural setting.

We would get requests to hold parties and other events, but we did not feel as though we had the facilities to host these events. So early 2012, we decided to look into it and then started to design an addition to our existing goat and horse barn, which was originally built in the 1960's, to accommodate weddings and other events...We looked at many great designs, but like most of our farm, we wanted our own rustic feel, for the new addition, to go with the old barn. So that's when we found someone to draw up our design, that we had described to him, …Very exciting to see our design on paper........so with Jerry's childhood friend, Jessie, who happens to be a carpenter, several months work and some unforeseen changes in design, the barn evolved to exactly what we had envisioned.

Our barn was built the old fashion way, with oak and other native lumber, half from the timber on our own farm and the other half from an Amish friend. The barn has a rustic feel that modern lumber just can't supply. Started in August of 2013 and finished by May of 2014.

Our 1st wedding was in 2014 and our decision to move forward or not, was going to be based on this wedding.....We absolutely enjoyed every minute and didn’t want it to end! With both of us still working full time jobs, we realized that it was impossible to run a wedding business part time, so we waited until Jerry retired mid 2015. Officially off and running in 2016 and having a ball.

"You never know what you'll get when you plant a pumpkin!

And this is how it all started

Charlie & Savannah, (Jerry’s daughter), got married here in 2015. It was one of our first weddings here on the farm, and was very fitting, as this is her childhood home.
