We had the most beautiful day and wedding!
We got to surprise our entire family with this beautiful venue tucked away in the Lawson woods. Me and wife had searched for various venues across KC in 2023 but we knew instantly that Jerry and Susan were a perfect fit. They treated us greatly when we toured the property and it didn’t take long for us to get us booked for the following year. Jerry and Susan are salt of the earth and they take a lot of pride in their magnificent and romantic venue. My entire family said it was one of the most gorgeous weddings they had ever attended. Best day of our lives thus far!

This place is absolutely gorgeous and rustic with original country style decor and ambience. We are having our sons wedding there and am so happy with the environment. The owners are friendly and absolutely amazing in helping with everything. We can't say enough great things about it. Definitely a place to do extravagant weddings and parties

Hello! We had our wedding on December 9th at Crooked River Farm and it was perfect! Susan and Jerry are beyond sweet and accommodating. They are very laid back and willing to work with you on whatever you need! They were able to accommodate our increase in guest with just a weeks notice. As well as us booking their venue a little over a month before our wedding date! Jerry is a sweetheart and was extremely helpful in decorating and the tear down. He even cut a Christmas tree from their farm for our Christmas themed wedding! Susan is a perfectionist, taking beautiful photos of our special day and making sure to capture every wonderful moment . She also helped me with putting on my veil! They are wonderful people and the venue is beautiful. So many photo opportunities between the bridge, the stairway to the venue, the fireplace and their custom sweethearts table! We did the elopement package and it was the perfect amount of time and space for our intimate wedding. One hundred percent recommend for a country/ rustic/ relaxed feel! We loved spending time during the planning and wedding day with these two!

My husband and I had our reception here in October 2023 and could not have envisioned a better place to have it. The grounds and the barn are beautiful, the options are endless, and the owners are absolutely fantastic. They even allowed my daughter to go with them to feed the animals while my now husband and I explored the property planning for our day. And to top it off- it's reasonably priced which is hard to find these days.

Amazing experience
Crooked River Farms is the best. The venue and scenery is absolutely beautiful. The owners are a wonderful couple. Susan and Jerry made us feel comfortable the moment we met them and were always available to answer any questions that we had. We did the all inclusive package which covered so many options for us and was a great deal for the price. The weekend of the wedding they were so helpful and present for any questions we had. I highly recommend this venue

Jerry and Susan go above and beyond to make you feel at home at crooked river. It's as if our wedding is being hosted by long time friends. They encouraged us to come to the venue often to meet with them and familiarize ourselves with the space and equipment. They were incredibly helpful in the planning process, helping my wife and I with details we didn't even think about. They are two very caring people and took the time to get to know us and form meaningful connections with us. Then there is the venue this is the perfect place for any outdoor/farm wedding. The cultivated trees, river, and antique barn as well as the other building available all make it captivatingly aesthetic. During our visits my wife and I never wanted to leave. This place is a true hidden gem with wonderful and passionate people that bring it to greatness.

Excellent Experience, Outstanding Hosts

I'm sure my wife and I could write a novel on the overall excellent experience we had with this venue but we will summarize it in a few short sentences. Susan and Jerry are two of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of knowing. They were incredibly accommodating and always willing to help when we had questions. The venue itself is pretty and had plenty of room for creative decorating ideas. That said, if you don't have the decorating gene, the venue itself allows for a minimalistic approach because of its naturally rustic appearance.
The value for what is included is where this place stands out, kind of wrapping the entire experience in a nice bow. We looked at several venues and our biggest hang-up with most others was the cost and hospitality. There are several packages to choose from, which allows you to tailor your wedding to what works best for you. Susan also offers an in house photography package, and I'm here to say, her work is wonderful.
Overall, Susan and Jerry are wonderful hosts and the venue was perfect for what we were looking for.

My husband and I found Crooked River after searching on WeddingWire after our first wedding venue never responded. Crooked River met all the standards that we were looking for. The venue has stunning scenery with multiple spots that are sure to highlight the big day. Jerry and Susan were so kind to assist us in the process up to the day and even after it had occurred. Susan is also an amazing photographer and I would highly recommend her for beautiful wedding photos. Thank you so much for the kindness before, during, and after our special day!

An undeniably beautiful venue, Crooked River Farm Weddings, LLC is the perfect setting for a quaint country western wedding. For the DIY Couple the various packages make tailoring your day easier than tailoring your dress & tux. The creativity allowed in an already iconic barn and surrounding glades transports your wedding day to the next level. My husband & I had a fantastic time on our wedding day, and accepting that we can’t control the weather, we had an end of summer soirée we will always remember. Our venue hosts and owners, Jerry & Susan Hanson, were perfectly welcoming and the right amount of helpful leading up to & on the day of our wedding. We had ample access to the venue before the big day to plan as much as needed. The photography packages offered by Susan were the perfect fit to our budget & gave us absolutely beautiful images to remember our day by. We cannot express our gratitude enough for the Hanson’s sharing their home oasis with us for our wedding day.

I can honestly say I would not have had my wedding anywhere else.
Working with Susan and Jerry was the easiest part of the wedding! They have been doing this long enough that they had answers to all my questions, they shared advice, and found ways to fit all of my little wedding touches into the day. Susan is very intune to details and timing(her pictures always take our breath away) while Jerry was an awesome help with set up and directing. I hardly worried about a thing on my wedding day. The venue itself is beautiful, meticulously upkept and clean, and has possibilities for so many different wedding ceremonies. They had so many things checked off my list, before I even knew what my list was. I can honestly say I would not have had my wedding anywhere else. The price was a steal with everything that was included!"

Beautiful Venue!
We loved our experience from start to finish! Sue is so helpful, and is great with the photography! Sue, and her husband Jerry, were great through the set up and made sure we were comfortable for the first night stay the day before. Sue was so helpful when getting ready the day of and made the process so smooth! I wouldn't have had my wedding anywhere else!

Absolutely amazing
Would have not imagined having our wedding anywhere else. We have developed a great relationship with the owners and it was all just truly amazing. They also gave us a list of vendors who know the venue well which helped not having to worry about to telling the DJ and bartender where to set up or what to do. The packages are very reasonably priced and we would have probably paid ima fortune anywhere else. I highly recommend this place to anyone.”

Absolutely amazing! I had a dream and this venue and the lovely couple who own it helped it come true.
Susan and Jerry at Crooked River are some of mine and my husbands favorite people. Jerry, my husband (not Jerry, one of the owners!), and I wanted a cozy, rustic place to get married. We love nature and good prices, and we found both here. When I stumbled across their website, I fell in love automatically. When I called and talked to Susan to set up a tour, I had a good gut feeling. When my now husband, grandma, and I toured the farm, we knew as soon as we crossed their bridge that this was the place for us. We felt right at home right away. From Susan and Jerry's kind, humorous demeanors to the beautiful property, all the way to their friendly cat, Paul, everything screamed, "THIS IS IT!" Our wedding would have been lovely anywhere, but making the choice to book this venue was the best decision we've made as a couple so far! Not only is the property great, Susan is such a talented, creative photographer. All of the photographs I've seen from her are works of art, and I couldn't be happier with her work. All in all, my husband and I fell in love with Crooked River, and you will too! We will be going back as soon as we have an event to hold or a photo to be taken.

Amazing place and people
We had planned to check out a few spots for our wedding. Crooked River was our first and last stop. After talking with Susan and Jerry we didn’t visit another spot. It was like talking to two people that we had been friends with for years. While the place sells itself they made such an impact that as we drove to the next spot we kept going on past. They were so helpful throughout the the whole process our day went off with no problems. Despite what was going on with the rest oft the world.

We went a little out of our way to use this venue, but for the price it was so worth it to have everything all together in one spot!
With our work schedules being a bit unpredictable Crooked River Farm LLC was very accommodating when we needed to schedule viewings a bit last minute. They are always adding things and improving the venue and we loved the deck and being able to use the farm house the day of the wedding to get ready and for our family and friends to relax after helping us finish the set-up.

I got married here this weekend... working with Jerry and Susan throughout the whole wedding planning process was amazing. Anytime I had a question my emails/phone calls were answered promptly. Anytime I had questions about venders I was pointed inter right direction. I was treated like family from the first time I met them. Never once felt like I was just another customer renting their property. They both helped make everything run perfectly!! I would recommend this location a million times over!!!! My wedding was exactly what I had imagined from beginning to end. I knew this was the place I wanted to get married when I first saw the pictures of the venue. My fiancé and I made an appointment to view the venue, and we were able to get in within the next day. We even booked the venue and got married 13 days later . Jerry and Susan went above and beyond all expectations. The venue is exactly what it looks like in pictures if not better. Susan and Jerry make you feel at home, and are absolutely amazing to work with.

Jerry and Susan are great to work with. They were helpful with suggestions and very responsive to any questions we had a long the way. The venue is beautiful and gives you that perfect fairy tale wedding feeling. Pricing is very affordable. Susan was also our photographer and not only did she take LOTS of photos - the posed and candid shots were all perfect. We could not have picked a more perfect place for my daughters special day!!!

Hands down, the most amazing place to get married. My husband and I got married here back in July and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Before booking the venue we looked at a few other places and wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, the places were beautiful, but everything about Crooked River Farm was absolutely perfect right down to the owners. Susan and Jerry made the venue even more amazing with their down to earth personalities. They didn't treat us like a random customer, they actually treated us like people and were a huge part of our wedding. They helped get things ready for the ceremony and they interacted with our friends and family during the wedding. Our wedding was perfect thanks to Susan and Jerry. We will forever be grateful for you helping make our special day just that much more special.

Our daughter and son-in-law wanted a small but intimate wedding...the elopement package at Crooked River Farms was just perfect. The barn setting was just what they were looking for and the landscape was just beautiful. Jerry and Susan made the wedding even more special with their personal touch. They made everyone feel welcome and really focused on making Kimberly and John's day just what they wanted. Susan did the photography and did a fantastic job! We can not express enough how much finding Jerry, Susan and Crooked River Farms for their wedding made the day even that much more special and amazing!

We absolutely loved our experience at Crooked River Farms! It was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and a reception with a rustic country feel. My husband and I used this venue for our reception. The owners were very nice, open with advice, recommendations for vendors, flexible, and very kind. We loved the entire venue. There is plenty of room outside that is gorgeous for your guests to mingle and plenty of room inside for a big wedding or reception. I would highly recommend this venue.
