Well, it's almost Christmas, looking forward to being with family and friends and getting the house and the barn all decorated....yep, the barn. Jerry went out into our timber and cut down a small cedar tree, set it up in the barn and decorated it....turned out pretty cute.

Just a couple of days left to finish up the Christmas shopping, Christmas Eve and Day food shopping, clean the house and the dogs. Although it is a very hectic time of year, we wanted to take a moment to wish all of you and your families, a very Merry Christmas..

Hi everyone, Jerry and I thought we would tell you a little bit  about ourselves & how Crooked River Farm LLC came to be. We started out in 2010 with a fall pumpkin patch on our 83 acre farm, that we opened to the public. Our customers would tell us how much they really liked the relaxing feeling of a day on the farm,  in the country,  going on a hayride and those wonderful pumpkins. A simple concept with a beautiful country setting.

Over the years, several of our customers suggested we do weddings because of the natural setting , we would get requests to hold parties  and other events, but we did not feel as though we had the facilities to host these events. So early 2012, we decided to look into it and then started to design an addition to our existing goat and horse barn, to accommodate weddings and other events...We looked at many designs and found someone to draw up a design that we came up with, ......Very exciting to see our design on paper........so with Jerry's childhood friend, Jessie, who happens to be a carpenter,  several months work and some unforeseen changes in design, the barn evolved to exactly what we had envisioned  ..... Started in August of 2013 and finished by May of 2014....this barn was built the old fashion way, with oak and other native lumber, half from the timber on our own farm and the other half from an Amish friend. The barn has a rustic feel that modern lumber just can't supply.

This year we had our 1st wedding, it was a beautiful day for a country wedding and much to our delight, it went off without a hitch, well, except of coarse, for the bride and groom, ....pardon my pun :-)  All of their guests had a great time and had a lot of nice things to say about the venue..

We have heard from many interested couples who have found us from all over,  and we are very excited about the future. We look forward to working with each and every couple who choose Crooked River Farm to make their wedding dreams come true.
